The Item Edit Page
When you select an
Item for editing, you will see the Item Edit page. From this
page you can change the Placement of the Item within its
Section, the Schedule of the Item, and the actual content of
the Item.
The Item selected for editing is displayed in the
Pit along with its current schedule information. Below the
Pit is the Schedule Editor.
The Content Editor will display the contents of
your Item.
The Content Editor above contains an example Item
from a menu Section. The Item is displayed in The Pit as
shown on the original Web page.
The
Insert Button
To approve your
work and commit to the changes to your page, press the
Insert button. If you would like to change the placement of
the Item in its Section, select a new position from the
Placement Droplist to the right of the Insert button before
pressing the Insert Button.
The
Pit
Your Item lives in
The Pit while you make changes to it. Press the Apply Button
to perform any Schedule or Content modifications on your
Item while it is in the Pit. The edited Item will be
reloaded into the Pit with your new modifications. You can
continue editing the Pit Item, or Insert it when you are
satisfied with your edits.
The
Schedule Editor
Similar to the Time
Dial, the Schedule Editor lets you designate a range of days
during which your Item will be displayed. Within this range
of days you may even select certain days of the week for
Item display. This can be useful for scheduling special
events, or daily/monthly specials.
The
Content Editor
Changing the
content of your Item is done in the Content Editor.
Depending on the type of content to be edited, the Content
Editor will display your Item's content inside different
types of Content Tools. The example Item shown at left
contains a simple text gadget. See Editing Content ( page
68)
Note: The Item as it
appears in the Pit is the Current Item. Use the Pit to
preview your editing. Only when you are satisfied with the
contents of the Pit should you Insert the Item.
Important! The Apply Button is
located below and to the right of the Pit. Remember, you
must "Apply" all changes to the Pit Item.
