Editing Content
Changing the
content of your Item is done in the Content Editor.
Depending on the type of content to be edited, the Content
Editor will display your Item's content inside different
types of Content tools.
The
Text Tool
The Text Tool
displays your text inside editable text boxes in the order
that they appear within the Item. The text boxes can be
large or small depending upon the amount of text within
them.
The text
is "split" around the HTML that makes it behave the way it
does on your Web site. This means that paragraphs will
appear in their own text box, not with other paragraphs on
the page. Items that include complex HTML formatting will be
separated into text boxes for each type of formatting
applied to them.
Note: You do not need to
tell IN2U what type of tool to use for content editing. IN2U
will automatically use the right tool for the job.
Note: In the example at
right, any text replacing the words "Onion Soup" would show
up purple on the Web page. If you replaced the words "Baked
with Provolone Cheese!" with something else, it would show
up indented on its own line in italics.
To the
left of each text box you will see a Content Switch. This
switch tells IN2U how to treat the text you type into the
text box. If the switch is set to Simple, the line breaks
and paragraphs in your text will be ignored. If you set the
switch to Line Breaks, IN2U will insert HTML into the text
to recreate your formatting. Take for example the following
text:
The
output will look like this:
The quick
brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
If you
set the switch to Line Breaks:
The
output will look like this:
The quick
brown fox
jumped over the lazy dog.
and
display in the Content Editor like this the next time you
edit this Item:
Hint: Some special characters are not displayable by
HTML. Always check your work in The Pit before Inserting it
into your page.
