PDF
Adobe Portable Document Format. PDF is a universal file format that
preserves all of the fonts, formatting, colors, and graphics of any source
document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. PDF
files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly
as intended by anyone with the Adobe Acrobat Reader, available free from
www.adobe.com. Adobe PDF files are ideal for documents that are intended
for print.
PGP
PGP is a military grade encryption product which is publicly available to
U.S. Residents through some of the common e-mail programs, or from Network
Associates for a small fee. PGP utilizes a Public Key Method for encrypting
data.
PIT, the
Like the Pit of automobile racing courses, The Pit is a workspace that IN2U
uses for modifications to IN2U Items. An IN2U Item lives in The Pit while
you make changes to it. The edited Item will be reloaded into the Pit with
any modifications that have been Applied to it. You can continue editing
the Pit Item, or Insert it when you are satisfied with your edits.
PNG
Portable Network Graphics. An image file format. PNG has been accepted as
an image standard by the WWW Consortium and is slowly being integrated into
the major web browsers including Netscape and Internet Explorer.
PSD
PSD is a common extension for Adobe Photoshop Files. You can send your
images to your Fulfillment Representative as PSD files. We will convert these files into Web friendly formats for you.
Palette
A set of colors. The Web Safe Color Palette is the 216 colors that display
reliably on a majority of computer systems.
Passphrase
A secret word or phrase used to gain access into secret areas, or to decrypt
secret messages.
Photoshop
Adobe Photshop is a photo design and production tool available from Adobe
Systems Inc.
Pica
A unit of measurement used in typography to define typographic material. A
Pica is equal to about 1/6 inch.
Point
A unit of measurement used in typography to define typographic material. A
point is equal to about 1/72 inch.
Preview
The Preview stage of your Web site's development is when you are given the
opportunity to look at the work produced prior to publication on the Web.
Private Key
For purposes of Public Key encryption products like PGP, a Private Key is a
secret code used to Decrypt data encrypted using the Public Key. Both the
Public and Private Keys are needed to Decrypt files encrypted using the
Public Key Method. Never give a copy of your Private Key to anyone. Your Fulfillment Representative will never ask for your Private Key.
Public Key
For purposes of Public Key encryption products like PGP, a Public Key is a
secret code used to Encrypt data specific to a recipient. You must use a
person's Public Key to Encrypt a message for their eyes only. Both the
Public and Private Keys are needed to Decrypt files encrypted using the
Public Key Method. You may share your Public Key with anyone. Your Fulfillment Representative will
need a copy of your Public Key in order to Encrypt any secure transmissions
between your Fulfillment Representative and you.
